Pie In the Sky

I parked up the street from Joan’s on Third and this sweet little 50′s-inspired spot caught my eye. I was yapping on the phone, so I kept walking to Joan’s. There was a crush of people at Joan’s (as always) so I turned heel and headed back. Thank God I did.

Look at the happy interior with sunny yellow lampshades and cushions and cozy tufted grey built-ins.

I ordered a Coca-Cola Light just to pop off the cap on this vintage cooler.

Hello, lover. I know pies are the new cupcake, but I don’t discriminate. I like all sweets equally, trend or not. The apple cutie pie caught my eye. They heated up the single-serving dish {$2.50} when I was finished with my lunch. They have whoopie pies too. Must return.

I stowed my purse into the convenient cubby and waited to be wowed.

I ordered the turkey avocado sandwich on ciabatta { $8.50} with bibb lettuce, roma tomato, dijon and mayo. It doesn’t list horseradish, so I assume it’s in the dijon or mayo… It burned my nose and I was tempted to eat the whole thing. I compromised and ate the other half open-faced. Time for dessert!

Going…

Going…

Ahem, gone.
